José Ángel Esmoris Tasende

Angeliño, whose full name is José Ángel Esmoris Tasende, is a Spanish left-back born in Coristanco on 4 January 1997. He developed at Escolas Luis Calvo Sanz before joining Deportivo La Coruña’s academy in 2007. Manchester City recruited him in 2012, and he progressed through the club’s development system before gaining senior experience with New York City FC and making his City first-team debut in the 2016 FA Cup. After loan spells in Spain, Angeliño established himself in the Netherlands with NAC Breda and PSV Eindhoven, earning Eredivisie Talent of the Year recognition in 2018–19. Manchester City later brought him back before he moved to RB Leipzig, where his advanced wing-back role helped the team reach the 2020 Champions League semi-finals. He also spent time with Hoffenheim and Galatasaray before joining AS Roma, initially on loan, in 2024. A left-footed wide defender, Angeliño contributes through overlapping runs, crossing and positioning, and won the DFB-Pokal with Leipzig.
