André Trindade da Costa Neto

André, widely known by his first name, is a Brazilian defensive midfielder born in Ibirataia on 16 July 2001. He joined Fluminense’s youth academy at the age of 12 in 2013, beginning his development at the club’s Xerém centre. André initially played as a forward and attacking midfielder before moving into deeper roles. He made his senior debut for Fluminense in September 2020, appearing in a Copa do Brasil match against Atlético Goianiense. After breaking into the side in 2021, he was named the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A’s Best Newcomer. In 2023, he helped Fluminense win their first Copa Libertadores, completing the 120 minutes of the final against Boca Juniors. André moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers in August 2024 and became part of Wolves’ midfield. He has also received frequent call-ups to the Brazil national team.
