João Paulo Santos da Costa

Andorinha, the commonly used name of João Paulo Santos da Costa, is a Portuguese goalkeeper born in Barcelos on 2 February 1996. He joined FC Porto’s academy in 2006 and progressed through the club’s youth system. With Porto, he won national titles at under-15, under-17 and under-19 level in 2010–11, 2011–12 and 2014–15. João Costa made his senior debut for Porto B on 3 October 2015, starting the reserve side’s 2–0 win over Olhanense. In 2015–16, he was part of the Porto B squad that won the LigaPro title. To gain senior experience, he moved to Spain in 2018, joining FC Cartagena on loan before signing for Mirandés in 2019. He later represented Granada CF and Real Murcia, and his Spanish spell included notable Copa del Rey wins with Mirandés. After returning to Portugal, Andorinha ultimately came back to FC Porto, bringing experience from academy football, reserve competition and Spain.
