Álvaro Fidalgo Fernández

Álvaro Fidalgo Fernández is a Spanish-born midfielder from Oviedo, whose pathway began in Asturias before leading to Real Madrid’s academy. He developed at La Fábrica, spent 2016–17 on loan with Rayo Majadahonda, and later became captain of Real Madrid Castilla. Fidalgo made his senior Real Madrid debut in the 2018 Copa del Rey against UD Melilla, entering as a substitute. After a spell with Castellón in 2020, he moved to Club América on loan in February 2021. He established himself as a central creative midfielder in Mexico, helping América win three consecutive Liga MX titles from Apertura 2023 through Apertura 2024. In February 2026, Fidalgo joined Real Betis, returning to Spain’s top flight after his Mexican breakthrough. Born in Spain, he subsequently switched international allegiance and debuted for Mexico in March 2026.
