Alejandro Francés Torrijo

Alejandro Francés Torrijo is a Spanish centre-back born in Zaragoza on 1 August 2002. He developed at Real Zaragoza and made his first-team debut in the Copa del Rey against UD Socuéllamos on 17 December 2019, before appearing for the club’s reserve side. Francés made his Segunda División league debut against CD Lugo in June 2020, completing the full match, and was promoted to Zaragoza’s first team in February 2021. Across four seasons in Spain’s second tier, he established himself as a regular defender, recording 36 appearances and three goals in 2023–24. In July 2024, Francés joined Girona, beginning a move into La Liga and European football. Primarily a centre-back, he has also been used at right-back and in a right-sided midfield role. His game combines early defensive engagement with progressive passing, while his versatility supports Girona’s possession-based approach.
