Abel Ruiz Ortega
Abel Ruiz advances as a mobile forward, attacks space with runs beyond the line and pins centre-backs to create separation. A La Masia graduate who broke out at Braga before joining Girona in 2024. He keeps probing through build-up. Ruiz's role as False 9 or Target Forward+ lets him drop deep to influence tempo and create space. He thrives with progressive one-touch layoffs and vertical balls into wide channels. Internationally, Ruiz featured for Spain's U23s at the 2024 Olympics. His finishing moves and link play drive Girona's attack. Attacks the back post and gets shots off quickly.
