Aron Elís Þrándarson

Aron Elís Þrándarson is an Icelandic central midfielder from Reykjavík who developed at Víkingur Reykjavík. In 2013, he helped Víkingur win promotion to Iceland’s top flight and was named both the league’s Most Promising and Best Player. He moved to Aalesunds FK in Norway in 2015, spending five seasons there and experiencing relegation in 2017 before helping the club win the 1. divisjon title in 2019. In 2020, Þrándarson joined Danish club OB, where he remained until 2023. He returned to Víkingur in July 2023 and contributed to the club’s Icelandic Cup triumph that year, scoring in the final. Víkingur also won the Besta deildin in 2023 and 2025 during his return spell. Þrándarson has represented Iceland at senior level, making his debut against the United States in 2016 and scoring his first international goal against San Marino in 2022.
