Alhassan Yusuf Abdullahi
Alhassan Yusuf Abdullahi is a Nigerian midfielder from Kano, born on 18 July 2000. He developed at Hearts of Abuja Academy before joining IFK Göteborg after trials in 2018. At the Swedish club, Yusuf established himself in senior football and was named Allsvenskan Newcomer of the Year in 2019. In 2021, he moved to Royal Antwerp, where his role grew from ball-winning midfielder to a player trusted to support build-up play and operate in deeper or more advanced central positions. Yusuf helped Antwerp win the Belgian league and cup double in 2022–23, while also appearing in the UEFA Champions League. His form earned international recognition with Nigeria, and he made his competitive debut at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in early 2024. In mid-2024, Yusuf joined New England Revolution, adding energetic pressing, ball recovery and forward passing to the MLS side’s midfield.
