Adam James Wharton

Adam James Wharton is an English central midfielder born in Blackburn on 2 June 2004. He joined Blackburn Rovers’ pre-academy at six and developed through the club’s system, initially playing as a number ten before moving into a deeper controlling role. Wharton made his senior debut in August 2022 during Blackburn’s 4–0 League Cup win over Hartlepool. By the end of the 2022–23 season, he had won Blackburn’s Young Player of the Year award after making 22 appearances. Crystal Palace signed Wharton in February 2024, giving him a move into the Premier League. He made his England debut as a substitute against Bosnia and Herzegovina in June 2024 and was included in the squad for Euro 2024. In 2025, Wharton started Palace’s FA Cup final victory over Manchester City and later helped them win the Community Shield.
