Arthur Nicolas Theate

Arthur Nicolas Theate is a Belgian defender born in Liège on 25 May 2000. He developed in the youth systems of KRC Genk and Standard Liège, while also spending time at KAS Eupen, where he played as a striker before moving into defence. After a difficult path through Belgian academies, including releases and reserve spells, he earned a trial with Oostende in 2020. Theate established himself with Oostende during the 2020–21 season, attracting attention as a mobile central defender. He moved to Bologna for 2021–22, made his Serie A debut against Inter Milan, and adapted quickly to Italian football. In 2022, Theate joined Rennes, where he continued to develop as a left-sided central defender. In 2024, he joined Eintracht Frankfurt initially on loan before a permanent transfer in early 2025. He has also represented Belgium since making his senior debut in 2021.
