Aurélien Djani Tchouaméni

Aurélien Djani Tchouaméni is a French defensive midfielder born in Rouen on 27 January 2000. He developed at Bordeaux, where he made his professional debut in 2018 after progressing through the club’s academy. In January 2020, Tchouaméni moved to Monaco and established himself as a disciplined holding midfielder, often operating in a double pivot and helping the club achieve consecutive Ligue 1 podium finishes. His performances earned the 2020–21 Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year award and a senior France debut in September 2021. Tchouaméni started France’s Nations League final victory over Spain that year. He joined Real Madrid in summer 2022, succeeding Casemiro as a central midfield option and later covering at centre-back when required. He also won the Champions League with Madrid in 2023–24. At Madrid, Tchouaméni combines defensive anticipation, aerial strength and forward passing, while remaining involved with France.
