Alexander Roldan León
Alexander Roldan León is a defender for Seattle Sounders, primarily operating at right-back. Born in Artesia, California, he developed as a midfielder at Seattle University, where he made 82 appearances and recorded 18 goals and 17 assists from 2014 to 2017. Seattle selected Roldan 22nd overall in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft, but after limited opportunities in midfield, the club declined his contract option in 2019. He returned as a preseason trialist in 2020, converted to right-back, and earned a new contract before becoming a regular contributor. Roldan's crossing, progressive passing and work on the flank helped establish him as an MLS All-Star in 2021. In 2022, he started every match of Seattle's CONCACAF Champions League-winning campaign, lifting the trophy alongside his brother Cristian. He chose El Salvador internationally in 2021, later wearing the captain's armband.
