Aaron Christopher Ramsdale

Aaron Christopher Ramsdale is an English goalkeeper born in Stoke-on-Trent on 14 May 1998. He began with Marsh Town and was released by Bolton Wanderers before returning to the professional pathway with Sheffield United in 2013. Ramsdale signed his first professional contract with Sheffield United in 2016 and made his senior debut in the FA Cup. He moved to AFC Bournemouth in 2017, with loan spells at Chesterfield and AFC Wimbledon helping him gain regular experience, including a prominent role in Wimbledon's fight against relegation. Sheffield United brought him back in 2020, and despite the club's relegation, Ramsdale was named both Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year. Arsenal signed him in 2021, where his energetic shot-stopping, distribution and willingness to sweep behind the defence helped him establish himself ahead of Bernd Leno before David Raya later took the starting role. After joining Southampton in 2024, Ramsdale joined Newcastle United on loan for the 2025–26 campaign, while he has represented England.
