Anthony Ralston

Anthony Ralston is a Scotland international right-back from Bellshill who developed at Celtic. He joined Celtic’s youth academy in 2007 and moved into senior football with a loan to Queen’s Park before making his Celtic debut against St Johnstone in May 2016. In September 2017, Ralston started a Champions League group match against Paris Saint-Germain, an early high-profile test against Neymar. He later spent loan periods with Dundee United and St Johnstone, gaining experience while competing for a regular place at Celtic. Under Ange Postecoglou in 2021–22, Ralston adapted to an inverted full-back role, moving inside during build-up while defending from the right. His headed winner against Ross County in December 2021 became a defining moment in Celtic’s double-winning campaign. Ralston also started all three of Scotland’s matches at Euro 2024 and remains with Celtic.
