Andrés Felipe Perea Castañeda

Andrés Felipe Perea Castañeda is an American football defender born in Tampa on November 14, 2000. He developed in Atlético Nacional’s academy after moving to Colombia with his family and was part of the club’s 2013 Torneo de Pony Fútbol-winning squad. Perea made his Atlético Nacional first-team debut in 2017 and helped the club win the 2018 Florida Cup and Copa Colombia. He moved into Major League Soccer with Orlando City, initially on loan in 2019 before the transfer became permanent, and contributed to the club’s 2022 U.S. Open Cup triumph. After a spell with Philadelphia Union, Perea joined New York City FC on loan in July 2023 and later made the move permanent. He represented Colombia at under-17 and under-20 level before switching international allegiance to the United States. Perea made his senior USMNT debut in January 2021 against Trinidad and Tobago.
