Azzedine Ounahi

Azzedine Ounahi is a Moroccan central midfielder born in Casablanca on 19 April 2000. He began his development with Raja Club Athletic before joining the Mohammed VI Football Academy in Salé in 2015. After moving to France, Ounahi spent time with Strasbourg’s reserve side and joined Avranches in 2020, making his senior breakthrough in the third tier. His performances earned him a move to Angers in 2021, where he established himself in Ligue 1. Ounahi became a key member of Morocco’s team at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, starting as the Atlas Lions reached the semi-finals, the first African side to do so. He moved to Marseille in January 2023 and later spent the 2024–25 season on loan at Panathinaikos. Ounahi subsequently joined Girona, where he continues to operate as a midfielder capable of linking play and progressing the ball.
