Andrew Abiola Omobamidele

Andrew Abiola Omobamidele is an Irish defender born in Dublin on 23 June 2002. He began playing as a striker and midfielder before settling in defence, and joined Norwich City's academy at 16. Omobamidele signed a professional contract in 2020 and broke into Norwich's first team during the 2020–21 Championship season. He made his Premier League debut against Arsenal in September 2021, then scored his first senior goal with a header against Leeds United. By age 20, he had become Norwich's youngest-ever captain. In September 2023, Omobamidele transferred to Nottingham Forest, where opportunities were limited. He made his Republic of Ireland senior debut in 2021, including an appearance against Portugal. In 2025, he moved to Strasbourg, initially on loan before completing a permanent transfer, continuing his development as a composed, ball-playing centre-back.
