Ashley Maynard-Brewer

Ashley Maynard-Brewer is an Australian goalkeeper born in 1999 who developed at ECU Joondalup before moving to Charlton Athletic's academy in 2015. At ECU Joondalup, he worked with former Charlton goalkeeper Andy Petterson, whose guidance helped secure the trial, and he trained with professional first-team squads as a teenager. From 2018 to 2020, Maynard-Brewer gained senior experience on loan with Chelmsford City, Hampton & Richmond Borough, Dulwich Hamlet and Dover Athletic. He then joined Ross County on loan for 2021–22, making 17 appearances in the Scottish Premiership and experiencing top-flight football. A loan spell at Gillingham followed in 2022 before he returned to Charlton, where he later established himself as the club's preferred goalkeeper. His Charlton career included a League Cup tie against Brighton & Hove Albion in 2022, when he saved a penalty as the Addicks reached the quarter-finals. Maynard-Brewer was selected for Australia's Olyroos squad for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, and his reflexes, concentration and composure have remained central to his goalkeeping profile; he is registered with Gillingham.
