Alex Král

Alex Král is a Czech defensive midfielder born in Košice, Slovakia, on 19 May 1998. He developed in the Czech football system before joining Slavia Praha, where his progress brought him into senior football. After establishing himself at Slavia Praha, Král moved to Spartak Moscow in September 2019 and increasingly operated as a holding midfielder. He later spent the 2021–22 season on loan at West Ham, making a Premier League appearance and featuring in the EFL Cup. FIFA regulations following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine preceded Bundesliga loan spells with Schalke 04 and Union Berlin. In 2024–25, Alex Král joined Espanyol on loan and played regularly in La Liga, recording one assist in the supplied season record. A Czech Republic international, he combines defensive coverage, tackling and simple distribution with the positional discipline expected of a deep midfielder.
