Aleksandar Katai

Aleksandar Katai is a Serbian midfielder, born in Vrbas on 6 February 1991. He developed at Vojvodina and began his senior career there before moving to Olympiacos in 2011, with loan spells at Vojvodina, OFI Crete and Platanias. Katai joined Crvena Zvezda on loan in 2014 and made the transfer permanent the following year. In 2015–16, he scored 21 league goals and finished as the Serbian SuperLiga’s leading scorer. His performances earned him a move to Alaves in 2016, followed by a productive spell with Chicago Fire, where he registered 18 goals and 12 assists in 62 appearances. A brief 2020 stint with LA Galaxy preceded his return to Crvena Zvezda later that year. Katai has since become a central attacking figure for the Belgrade club, helping it win domestic honours while also representing Serbia.
