Alibek Kassym
Alibek Kassym is a Kazakhstan international centre-back who plays for FC Astana. Born on 27 May 1998 in Kazakhstan, the 1.93-metre right-footer developed in Kairat Almaty’s youth system from 2015 to 2018. He also featured for Kairat II and Kairat U19 before beginning his senior career with a loan to Akzhayik in 2018 and a spell at FK Kyran. Kassym joined Kyzyl-Zhar SK Petropavlovsk on loan in 2019 and later made the move permanent, establishing himself as a regular central defender. His progress brought a senior Kazakhstan debut against North Macedonia on 4 June 2021. In February 2022, he transferred to Aktobe, where he helped win the Kazakhstan Cup in 2024. After four seasons with Aktobe, Kassym moved to FC Astana on 1 January 2026, adding experience and aerial strength to the capital club’s defence.
