Ažbe Jug

Ažbe Jug is a Slovenian goalkeeper born in Maribor on 3 March 1992. He developed at NK Pohorje and NK Maribor before joining NK Interblock Ljubljana in 2009, where he made his senior debut. In January 2011, Jug moved to Bordeaux, spending four and a half seasons in France and featuring mainly for the reserves and domestic cup teams. He made his Ligue 1 debut in 2014, coming on as a substitute for the injured Cédric Carrasso. In 2015, he joined Sporting CP, followed by a brief spell with Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands. Jug returned to Maribor in August 2020 and established himself as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper. He helped Maribor win the Slovenian Championship in 2021/22 and remains part of the club’s squad, bringing extensive experience from his years abroad.
