Antonino Gallo

Antonino Gallo is an Italian defender from Palermo who developed in Palermo’s youth system. He became a regular for the club’s Under-19 side by 2016–17 and received senior call-ups in the following two seasons, although he did not make a first-team appearance. After Palermo’s 2019 bankruptcy, Gallo joined Lecce that July and continued his development with a loan to Virtus Francavilla in Serie C. He made his professional debut against Paganese in January 2020 and soon followed it with his first start against Avellino. Returning to Lecce, Gallo made his Serie B debut against Empoli in January 2021. In 2021–22, he scored his first professional goal against Cremonese and helped Lecce win the Serie B title and promotion. Primarily a left-back, Gallo can also operate as a wing-back, contributing width and defensive work for Lecce.
