Andrew Mikobi Farrell

Andrew Mikobi Farrell is an American defender for the New England Revolution, born in Louisville in 1992. At five, he moved to Lima, spending a decade in Peru and developing at the Esther Grande de Bentín Academy. At 15, he returned to Louisville, attended Atherton High School and developed with the Louisville Cardinals. Farrell played in midfield and defense for Louisville, winning the 2012 BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year award and earning NCAA First-Team All-American honors. New England traded up with Toronto FC to select him first overall in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft. He initially operated at right back, then moved into central defense in 2015, where his recovery speed and distribution supported the back line. Farrell helped New England reach the 2014 MLS Cup Final and win the 2021 Supporters’ Shield, later becoming the Revolution’s all-time leader in appearances, starts and minutes.
