Luis Alfonso Espino García

A. Espino, the commonly used name of Luis Alfonso Espino García, is a Uruguayan left-back born in San Jacinto on 5 January 1992. He developed through Danubio and Huracán Buceo before joining Miramar Misiones and moving into Nacional’s youth setup in 2012. Espino made his Nacional senior debut in February 2014 and became a regular during a five-year spell, winning the Uruguayan Primera División in 2014–15 and 2016. In January 2019, he moved to Cádiz, helping the club secure promotion to La Liga in 2019–20. He later joined Rayo Vallecano as a free agent in July 2023, extending his career in Spain while operating mainly on the left flank. Espino is currently listed with Racing Club, and his energetic overlapping, tackling and recovery work have remained central to his profile.
