Alonzo Tim Engwanda-Ongena

Alonzo Tim Engwanda-Ongena is a Belgian midfielder who developed at Anderlecht before moving into senior football in the Netherlands. He joined Anderlecht’s academy at seven and progressed through the club’s youth system, later representing RSCA Futures in the Challenger Pro League. He made his professional debut during the 2022/23 season and became captain of the Under-23 side in 2023/24. In 2024, Engwanda signed for Utrecht, taking the next step into the Eredivisie after his long development in Belgium. At Utrecht, Engwanda has operated primarily as a defensive midfielder, protecting the back four and helping restart attacks with composed, progressive passing. Standing 1.85 metres tall, he contributes through interceptions, duels and positional discipline rather than chasing attacking statistics. His progression from Anderlecht prospect to Utrecht midfielder has also included European exposure with Utrecht, broadening his experience at senior level.
