Arne Engels
Arne Engels is a Belgian midfielder born in Opwijk on 8 September 2003. He developed at Club Brugge, joining the academy at 12, and spent three years with Club NXT, making his professional debut in Belgium’s second tier at 16. Engels did not make a senior appearance for Club Brugge before moving to FC Augsburg in January 2023. He quickly entered Augsburg’s starting side, featuring in 18 of the club’s final 19 Bundesliga matches that season. His performances earned him a Golden Boy nomination and established him as a technically assured central midfielder capable of progressing the ball from deep. In August 2024, Engels joined Celtic, making his debut in a 3–0 win over Rangers and continuing his development in Glasgow. He made his Belgium senior debut on 6 September 2024, replacing Youri Tielemans against Israel in the Nations League.
