Anton Ari Einarsson

Anton Ari Einarsson is an Icelandic goalkeeper born in Reykjavík on 25 August 1994. He developed in Icelandic football before joining Valur in 2014, where he initially gained experience through loan spells at Tindastóll and Grindavík. Einarsson became Valur’s first-choice goalkeeper during a successful period from 2015 to 2019. With the Reykjavík club, he won Icelandic Cups in 2015 and 2016, then helped secure league titles in 2017 and 2018. He also collected the 2018 League Cup and other domestic honours before moving to Breiðablik ahead of the 2020 season. At Breiðablik, Einarsson helped the club win the Icelandic league in 2022 and 2024, and he was named Úrvalsdeild Goalkeeper of the Year in 2022. His role has also included build-up passing and sweeping behind the defence, reflecting Breiðablik’s progressive approach.
