Amidou Diop

Amidou Diop is a Senegalese central midfielder known for his right-footed play and imposing 1.96-metre frame. Born in Missirah on 25 February 1992, he developed at the Diambars academy and represented Senegal at under-17 and under-20 level. Diop moved to Norway in 2014 to join Molde, who won the Eliteserien and NM Cup that year. He then spent time on loan with Mjøndalen in 2015 and Kristiansund in 2016 before joining Kristiansund permanently in 2017. At Kristiansund, he established himself as a defensive midfielder, using his height in duels and screening the defence. He later played for Aalesunds FK, where his role increasingly included central defence. Diop is now registered with HB Tórshavn in the Faroe Islands, continuing a career built around defensive coverage, positional discipline and versatility between midfield and the back line.
