Alexandru Crețu
Alexandru Crețu is a Romanian midfielder born in Pașcani on 24 April 1992. He developed locally before progressing through Politehnica Iași, where he emerged in Liga I and initially played as a central defender. In December 2016, Crețu moved abroad to Olimpija Ljubljana, and his role increasingly included defensive midfield. He later joined Slovenian rivals Maribor, helping the club win the 2018–19 Prva Liga title. Returning to Romania, he signed for FCSB in 2021 before moving to Universitatea Craiova, where he added greater attacking influence from midfield. Crețu scored six goals for Craiova in the 2023–24 season and subsequently returned to the club in 2025. He has also represented Romania, making his senior debut in a 1–1 draw with Northern Ireland in September 2020.
