Andre Jason Blake

Andre Jason Blake is a Jamaican goalkeeper born on November 21, 1990, in May Pen, and he has built his professional career with the Philadelphia Union. Before turning professional, Blake attended the University of Connecticut, where he played from 2011 to 2013 and recorded 37 shutouts in 68 matches. He also won three consecutive conference Goalkeeper of the Year awards, establishing himself as one of college soccer's leading goalkeepers. Philadelphia selected Blake first overall in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft, making him the first goalkeeper chosen with the top pick. Although he initially served as a backup, he moved into the Union's starting role in late 2015 after making 10 saves against the New England Revolution. Since 2016, Blake has been Philadelphia's established first-choice goalkeeper and has won MLS Goalkeeper of the Year three times, in 2016, 2020 and 2022. At international level, Andre Blake represents Jamaica and won the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup Golden Glove after helping the Reggae Boyz reach the final.
