Alfonso Daniel Barco Del Solar

Alfonso Daniel Barco Del Solar is a Peruvian midfielder from Lima, born on 7 December 2001. He developed in Sporting Cristal’s youth system before moving to Universidad San Martín in 2018, where he progressed into senior football and made his top-flight debut in 2019. A late-2019 loan to César Vallejo brought reserve-team experience, and he returned to San Martín for the 2020 and 2021 seasons. Universitario signed Barco for 2022, giving him a larger role in domestic competition and the Copa Sudamericana. In August 2023, he joined Defensor Sporting on loan and helped the Uruguayan club win the Copa Uruguay in 2023 and 2024. He later spent time with Emelec before moving to HNK Rijeka on 16 January 2026. At Rijeka, Barco operates mainly as a defensive midfielder, using his 1.88-metre frame to protect the defence, contest aerial balls and cover as a centre-back when required.
