Axel Bamba

Axel Bamba is a centre-back born in Zürich, Switzerland, on 6 July 1999, and holds Ivorian nationality. He developed in the Paris area with Paris ES 16e and AC Boulogne-Billancourt before joining Paris FC’s youth system in 2009. Bamba made his senior debut for Paris FC’s reserve side in 2016 and progressed to the first team, establishing himself in Ligue 2. He made his professional breakthrough in a 2018 Coupe de la Ligue match against Ajaccio and remained with Paris FC through 2022. In August 2022, he moved to Sporting Gijón in Spain’s Segunda División, where injuries restricted his involvement across two seasons. Bamba returned to France with Ajaccio, becoming a regular in the 2024–25 Ligue 2 campaign. At 1.85 metres, he offers central defensive strength, aerial presence and cover at right-back, while his stated ambition is to represent Côte d’Ivoire internationally.
