Afeez Aremu Olalekan
Afeez Aremu Olalekan is a Nigerian midfielder from Ibadan, born in 1999. He began his senior career with Remo Stars, making his professional league debut during the 2013–14 season, before moving through Sharks, Sunshine Stars and Rivers United. At Rivers United, Aremu earned Man of the Match recognition during the 2015–16 campaign and subsequently joined Akwa United in 2017. His domestic performances brought international recognition, and he made his Nigeria debut against Benin on 13 August 2017. In early 2018, Aremu moved to Norway with IK Start, helping the club return to the Eliteserien in 2019. He joined FC St. Pauli in 2020 and later continued his career with 1. FC Kaiserslautern from 2023. Aremu is a defensive midfielder valued for breaking up play, shielding defenders, winning second balls and distributing safely, and he joined Aberdeen in January 2026.
