Ameen Al Dakhil
Ameen Al Dakhil is a Belgian centre-back born in Baghdad on 6 March 2002. Raised in Belgium, he developed in youth football with Kortenaken and Tienen before joining the Anderlecht academy. Although he began as a forward and midfielder, Al Dakhil moved into defence and made his senior debut for Standard Liège in 2021. He joined Sint-Truiden in 2022, where he established himself as a centre-back and earned regular first-team opportunities. Burnley signed him in January 2023, giving him experience in English football as the club secured promotion to the Premier League. On 31 January 2024, he scored against Manchester City, becoming the first Iraq-born player to score in the Premier League. Al Dakhil made his Belgium senior debut in June 2023 and moved to VfB Stuttgart in August 2024, continuing his development in the Bundesliga.
